Not bitter.

My family has done well. And I have experience with people that are struggling in life. And too often I find myself thinking ‘All they need to do is…’ But then I remind myself that from my vantage point things are easy.

For example, I own 3 rental properties. One of my tenants was short on the rent, short just a couple of hundred bucks short. Both partners smoke, smoking in Canada is darn expensive. $7.00 a pack, got 2 smokers smoking, 2 packs a day.. (7*2*30=$420)… So when the tenant was telling me they were short I am thinking in my mind ‘You cannot afford to smoke, quit smoking.’ But for me, as a non-smoker, it is easy to think/say that.

Just like from Shoe’s vantage point it is pretty easy (or seemingly easy, so he makes it seem) to do well on the Internet.

A client’s favicon.ico was not working in IE. After a little head scratching it turns out the clients created the ICON by change a JPEG file extension from .jpg to .ico.

An easy to detect this is to bring up the icon in FF like this:
yourdomain.com/favicon.ico and look at the program bar, see screen shot.

I just called NetWorkSolutions. The man, John, taking my call said “I can certainly help you out with that” after I described my problem. Then he instantly told me that there was not a solution to my question. So he could not really help me, unless helping me was making me realize I was stuck.

I am 100% convinced that the marketing team (or direction) for Molson are Americans. This ad promotes stero-types that most Canadians don’t like.

Frozen lakes? Our lakes are not frozen 6 months of the year, in fact, some, are only (at best) frozen for 0 months! Georgian bay does not freeze over anymore. Smaller lakes are frozen solid, but at best from Nov to March, 5 months.

Freedom? That is not a big concern for Canadians…. why do I need to drink Molson to be free?

I’m currently developing a Google powered site search for a client. For some odd reason only the universe knows about I decided to see what apple was doing. I did a search for iphone at apple Canada and got no results. Screen shot below. I just went back to make sure it was not a temporary hick up, and this now I’ve got a spinning pin wheel and still no results (screen shot below).
